JMP Engineering will provide a SCADA system for the Manitou Drive Biosolids Dewatering Facility and Kitchener Wastewater Treatment Plant in Ontario, Canada.

November 11, 2009 – The Region of Waterloo has awarded JMP Engineering the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) Systems Integration contract for the Manitou Drive Biosolids Dewatering Facility and Kitchener Wastewater Treatment Plant. After a thorough evaluation process, JMP earned the highest overall technical score from the eight submitted contract proposals. “The evaluation process examined each company’s experience, qualifications, and references,” reveals Paul Wilson, VP of Sales and Marketing at JMP Engineering. “JMP, as one of only five Control System Integrator Association Certified companies in Canada, was the only fully certified applicant, a certification that ensures our adherence to critical industry Best Practices.”

Under the CSIA Certification, companies have been third party audited to meet stringent performance standards in such areas as project, quality, and technical managements. This contract is the next part of the Region’s approved Wastewater Master Plan to enhance effluent quality, ensure effective effluent disinfection, and comply with specific Provincial and Federal regulations. Under this contract, JMP will be providing software programming, testing and commissioning of instrumentation that will monitor and control the Manitou Drive Biosolids Dewatering Facility and the upgraded Kitchener Wastewater Treatment Plant.

“The contract presents an important opportunity to help the City of Kitchener with their ongoing infrastructure investments,” shares Scott Shawyer, President and CEO of JMP Engineering. “We look forward to working with the Region and building off of the recent successes we have had in other communities like Brantford and Smith Falls.”
