May 12, 2014 - Kvaser announces Ethercan Light HS CAN to Ethernet interface that enables data from any CAN product or system to be accessed over the Internet, via an Ethernet equipped PC. The Ethercan Light HS’s Ethernet connection has auto-MDIX, meaning that it automatically detects and adjusts for the Ethernet cable type being used (either straight-through or crossover). It also offers built-in Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing the device to receive both data and power over the Ethernet cable. Combining a small, lightweight plastic housing with galvanic isolation, this device offers a flexible form-factor that allows it to be placed virtually anywhere, as well as the high durability expected of an interface that is used in industrial environments.
