April 28, 2010 - KW-Software selected the INtime for Windows real-time operating system (RTOS) by TenAsys to add hard real-time control responsiveness to its ProConOS PC-based programmable controller operating system with IEC 61131 and C#. ProConOS 61131 gives user a hard real-time runtime engine with which they can develop a full-featured PLC on PC based hardware. Using INtime RTOS the solution offers multitasking responsiveness in the sub-millisecond range and code execution in the sub microsecond range (1KCode) by means of machine-code created out of the IEC 61131 versatile debugging and monitoring interfaces.
All the latest X86 CPU platforms: Intel Core I5, I7 and Atoms processors, allowing users to select from a wide range of processor cost/performance options.The ProConOS environment also supports KW-Software's Profinet technology, which can be used as IO controller and IO device. Moreover, the Profinet IO stack can serve both at the same time via the same Ethernet port to enable direct data exchange between several Profinet IO controllers. Due to the system's high-performance software architecture, 100 Profinet IO devices can be handled in one millisecond.Customers of the integrated solution benefit from a significantly reduced integration effort, shorter development project durations leading to a faster time to market.
