January 16, 2019 - L-com Global Connectivity, a manufacturer of wired and wireless connectivity products, announced that it has unveiled a series of plenum-rated, Cat6a cable assemblies and bulk cable designed for environments that require the strict burn ratings.

L-com’s shielded, plenum, Cat6a Ethernet cables feature a plenum (CMP) and FT6-rated jacket that is fire retardant, making them compliant with building codes, appropriate for in-wall or in-ceiling installations and a suitable alternative to PVC jacketed cables. With shielded RJ45 connectors and a F/UTP aluminized polyester shield with drain wire, these cables provide protection from EMI/RFI and grounding while maintaining data transmission characteristics. These cables are rated for Category 6a applications and boast full 10-Gig Ethernet throughput. Plus, 23 AWG solid conductors that terminate into standard IDC connectors and are ideal for PoE applications and longer cable runs.

These cables are designed for applications including network cabling for plenum or riser spaces and general use, 10-Gig Cat6a, PoE, high speed data centers and processing networks, storage area networks (SAN) and metropolitan area networks (MAN). They are available in white, blue and green colors. The cable assemblies are offered in lengths of 1-foot to 100-feet and the bulk cable is offered in 1,000-foot lengths. Custom lengths and quantities are also available upon request.
