March 8, 2012 - Lanner Electronics released LEC-2312 DIN-rail mountable communication gateway for SCADA and power grid embedded systems. The product is designed for longevity and features a fan-less and dust-proof chassis. It uses the Intel Atom N455 and has one DDR3 SO-DIMM slot for up to 2GB of memory. The LEC-2312 is built for SCADA systems, industrial automation applications and general computing in extreme-environment situations. The LEC-2312 also features isolation on a number of the I/O ports, allowing the IPC to be deployed in power grid environments.
All five serial ports, the Digital In / Digital Out (DI/DO) port and the LAN ports all feature isolation. Four of the five serial ports and the DI/DO come in a terminal block form factor, allowing connections to live wires, which can be secured via screws. The terminal block form factor is preferred in many industrial automation/ SCADA settings. The LEC-2312 features both a wide voltage input range and an extended temperature range. The product can utilize a variety of power sources, and has a voltage range between DC +12 and 36 Volts.
The power input also features reverse polarity protection. The LEC-2312 can withstand temperatures between -10° and 55° Celsius or 14~131° Fahrenheit when equipped with industrial components.
