September 18, 2013 - Lanner released the LEC-3012A, a DIN rail-mountable industrial communications gateway. Ruggedly built to withstand the rigors of deployment in the energy sector, the LEC-3012A offers a variety of I/O options, all equipped with magnetic isolation and optical surge protection. LEC-3012A is a DIN rail-mounted communication gateway with a 4, 6, or 8 serial port configuration with strong ESD protection to provide high levels of robustness in rugged environments. By removing the most failure-prone component of computing devices, the fan, Lanner has increased service life and reduced the need for maintenance, while careful use of materials and passive allows the LEC-3012A to operate in a temperature range of -20 to 55°C.
With 1.5 kV magnetic isolation protection and optically isolated ports, the LEC-3012A is specifically designed for deployment in power generation and power distribution venues.
The LEC-3012A is available in three SKUs with differing I/O options:
• LEC-3012-A4 - Fanless Industrial PC with Intel Atom N455 CPU, 4 x GbE, 4 x COM ports • LEC-3012-A6 - Fanless Industrial PC with Intel Atom N455 CPU, 4 x GbE, 6 x COM ports • LEC-3012-A8 - Fanless Industrial PC with Intel Atom N455 CPU, 2 x GbE, 8 x COM ports • The LEC-3012A platform is compatible with Microsoft Windows XP Embedded and Linux 2.6.
