Firmware 4.1 enhancements include sequencer mode, dynamic brake connection, potentiometer speed initialization, auto pump/rinse mode, fault history diagnostic parameters and more.

September 7, 2011 – Lenze Americas released Firmware 4.1 for the SMVector Frequency Inverter. With five operating modes including V/Hz, enhanced V/Hz, vector speed, torque and sequencer, the SMVector inverter serves a broad array of industry applications. Firmware 4.1 is a major software expansion for the Lenze SMVector product portfolio.

The new functionality includes sequencer mode operation, built-in dynamic brake connection at 40 Hp (30 kjW) and above, potentiometer speed initialization, auto pump/rinse mode, fault history diagnostic parameters and more. In sequencer mode, up to 16 segments can be set, each with an individual frequency set-point, acceleration/deceleration time, digital output state and analog output value. The sequencer has three different modes to control how the drive moves through each individual step segment—time transition, step transition (digital input command), and timer/step transition. The integrated dynamic brake on the 40-60 hp SMVector models requires only the use of an external resistor for braking.

There are new PID and I/O parameters, in addition to the new ‘Advanced Setup Parameters’ which include input configuration, deceleration override time, voltage midpoint and frequency midpoint V/Hz characteristics. Diagnostics are simplified with the addition of input voltage and current threshold detectors.
