March 22, 2010 – LMI Technologies appointed Marko Torppala as the Director of Manufacturing. Torppala assumed his new responsibilities as of March 15, 2010 and will oversee global manufacturing operations with a focus on quality, on-time delivery, and increased process automation. “Marko brings a strong background in manufacturing management for industrial products where customers expect reliability and availability over long periods of operation,” says Terry Arden, CEO. With 12 years of relevant management experience for an international provider of wood products equipment, Torppala was involved in sourcing, purchasing, logistics, and production engineering.
Additionally, Torppala comes to the position with a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Helsinki University of Technology, as well as an extensive knowledge of LMI’s products. “I'm very excited to join LMI as I knew from my past that LMI is a successful and innovative company with great people. I see my new position as a unique opportunity to utilize all my experience and skills,” says Torppala. “I'm also looking forward to learn more about the cutting edge technology that is the core of LMI's products.”
