July 2, 2012 - Maple Systems introduced three models including a 7-inch (HMI5070P), 12.1-inch (HMI5121P), and 15-inch (HMI5150P) TFT touchscreen display. The touchscreens are housed in a sleek aluminum enclosure that is compact and resistant to corrosion. The microprocessors are specifically designed for efficient graphic animation and heavy data processing. The HMIs connect to a long list of PLCs, drives, and motion controllers through two serial ports, a USB port, a CAN bus port, and an Ethernet port (including support for BACnet and importing tag data for Rockwell Automation and Siemens PLCs).
The SD slot or USB port can log data or capture alarm history. Two video input ports (HMI5121P and HMI5150P only) allow a user to connect two motion cameras to the HMI for remote monitoring, and the built-in media player can play video files for training or instructional purposes. The EZwarePlus configuration software has many enhanced options including increased recipe functionality, advanced macro support, and better diagnostic tools to make it easier to program and maintain an HMI. With the sophisticated security options, a user can now manage user accounts and privilege settings to ensure that only authorized employees are allowed to perform sensitive tasks. The HMIs can email messages to remote personnel to alert them of alarm conditions in the plant.
With the EasyAccess feature, a user can set up remote monitoring and control of the HMI from any networked PC. They also support VNC, allowing a user to monitor the HMI from a handheld device or smart phone. All of the HMI5000P Series are NEMA4 (IP65) rated and carry both CE and RoHS certification. These models will also carry UL listing pending certification.
