April 11, 2010 - Sauer-Danfoss announces that Marc Weston has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, effective April 5, 2010. Weston will work from the Ames, Iowa, location and is replacing Tim Hanson, who has been serving as interim Executive Vice President and CMO and will retire later this year. Weston comes from a position as Vice President, Strategic Planning with The Timken Company, a manufacturer of power transmission components and specialty steels headquartered in Canton, Ohio, USA. “I am pleased to welcome Marc to Sauer-Danfoss,” says Sven Ruder, Sauer-Danfoss President and CEO.
“In his new role, Marc will be a member of the Sauer-Danfoss Leadership Team and will have overall responsibility for the Sauer-Danfoss Sales and Marketing organization, as well as Quality and Advanced Systems Engineering. Some of Marc’s main tasks will be to orchestrate an aligned sales approach to customers across the company and ensure heightened focus on achieving our quality goals.”Weston has more than 18 years of experience from a range of key leadership positions in marketing, operations and strategic management within The Timken Company in the U.S., Europe and Asia, including a position as Vice President Automotive Asia & President Japan/Korea in Tokyo, Japan.
He brings to Sauer-Danfoss a deep understanding of identifying growth opportunities and building organizations capable of capturing growth in multiple regions and markets around the world.
