Matrikon Announces Senior Management Promotions

Matrikon Inc. (TSX:MTK) is pleased to announce that we have expanded our senior management team to ensure that the company has the right people in place to achieve our future growth objectives. "Each of these people has an outstanding track record of delivering results for their business units during their tenure with Matrikon. With these additions to our senior management bench strength, we are ensuring that all aspects of our operations are receiving appropriate attention with clear responsibility and strong leadership. Their skill sets and proven ability will be integral as we continue to execute our strategies and to take advantage of growth opportunities," stated Nizar J.

Mike Brown - Vice-President of Technology

Mike holds a Masters of Applied Science degree from the University of Waterloo and has 15 years of advanced process control consulting experience, including four years at Matrikon. In this role Mike will be working with our sales force, our professional services teams, and our industry domain experts in order to correctly position Matrikon solutions. Mike has frequently demonstrated his ability to understand the challenges faced by our clients and develop specifically tailored technical solutions to address those challenges.

Jeff Gould - Vice-President of Sales and Vice President of Products

In the nine years that Jeff has been with Matrikon he has been instrumental in our product development and product sales. Jeff has traveled extensively to work with our sales staff in promoting Matrikon products and to understand process industry problems that can be addressed through the innovative application of technology.

Randy Kondor - Vice-President of Marketing

Randy has been with Matrikon for eight years, during which time he has been responsible for leading our OPC sales and later our entire OPC business unit. As our OPC business is strongly dependent on effective marketing, Randy has developed an excellent understanding of how the Matrikon message can best reach our target clients, which will allow him to provide strong leadership to our marketing department.

Warren Mitchell - Vice-President of Advanced Applications

Warren has been with Matrikon for ten years and has held a number of management positions in the company. Warren's passion for seeing Matrikon products applied in ways that provide industry with significant business benefits has been a key factor in the growth of our ProcessSuite product sales.

Dave Shook - Chief Technical Officer

Dave holds his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering (Process Control) from the University of Alberta and has extensive process industry experience. Dave has been providing leadership and vision to our research partnerships with the University of Alberta as well as our own product development teams. Dave also works closely with our professional services groups to ensure our products are being applied appropriately, and with our Industry Boards to ensure our product vision is aligned with the needs of our clients.
