AVI-SPL’s Control Room Group will use Matrox technology to deploy advanced display controllers for large-scale visualization display wall installations running mission critical applications.

September 17, 2009 - Matrox Graphics announced a strategic partnership with the Control Room Group (CRG), a division of leading audio and video communications integrator AVI-SPL, to deploy customized Video Display Wall solutions. This display wall technology is targeted specifically for large-scale visualization installations running high-end process control, traffic management, and security surveillance applications. The new CRG control room solutions are built on Matrox video display wall technology: a complete product line of capture and output boards, including the Streaming Media Decoder (SMD).

The SMD offers hardware-accelerated IP video decoding capabilities to significantly improve system performance, while simultaneously decoding and displaying up to 8 D1 video streams, in multiple formats. The SMD represents a highly flexible IP decoding architecture that supports a wide variety of network cameras, encoders, and codecs meeting new, demanding IP video project requirements.

A Matrox display wall controller can drive up to 64 displays so operators can view more real-time video streams from more sources across cube, plasma, or LCD video walls.CRG Sales Manager David Jones commented, “We are very excited to have developed a partnership with Matrox whose sterling reputation as the leading provider of specialized graphics technology will enhance our ability to provide leading edge services to existing and new clients across myriad verticals.” “Matrox is pleased to be collaborating with CRG to deliver this new series of display wall controllers to the control room market,” says Alain Thiffault, Business Development Manager, Matrox Graphics.

“With the Matrox technology delivering more live video streams across more displays, CRG can design, engineer and integrate the appropriate platform so control room operators can effortlessly manage their mission critical operations.”
