October 11, 2013 - MicroPower Direct announces MD100xE DC/DC converters provide 1W of output power in a miniature 7-pin SIP package. These single & dual output DC/DC converters are specifically designed to provide the voltage conversion, miniature size, I/O isolation and economy required by a wide range of space critical board level applications. Twenty-Four models operate from 5, 12, 15 and 24 VDC inputs, providing single and dual outputs of 5, 12, 15, 24, ±5, ±12 or ±15 VDC. Standard features include continuous short circuit protection, efficiency as high as 82%, an input/output isolation of 1,500 VDC, and low noise operation.
The MTBF (per MIL HDBK 217F) of the MD100xE series is greater than 3.5 Mhours. The MD100xE family is packaged in a miniature, 7-pin SIP case that requires very little board space. The pin-out is industry standard and all case materials meet UL94-V0 requirements. Each model is specified for operation over the wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C with no derating or heat sinking required.
Cooling is by free-air convection. The MD100xE series is an ideal solution for a wide variety of board level power distribution applications requiring miniature size, robust performance, and low cost.
