Brad PLC communication modules are now offered with Add-On Profiles (AOPs) for Rockwell Automation’s RSLogix 5000 software.

November 17, 2009 – Molex announces its Brad PLC communication modules are now offered with Add-On Profiles (AOPs) for Rockwell Automation’s RSLogix 5000 software. Brad PLC communication modules provide the interface required for a Rockwell Automation ControlLogix PLC to connect to specific industrial fieldbuses. The module configuration is supported with AOPs for easy integration into the ControlLogix system using the RSLogix 5000 software. All communication modules for Profibus and Modbus software are also supported with an AOP.Devices use all the same conventions as other native Rockwell Automation products so customers using these will be familiar and comfortable with the environment, making the product easier to use.

The AOP provides a more integrated look and feel for the device rather than appearing as a Generic Device.Through its Brad product line, the company offers a complete line of automation infrastructure solutions including network interfaces, gateways, diagnostic tools, simulation software, industrial Ethernet switches, cordsets, connectors, receptacles, distribution boxes and I/O modules. “Users benefit from faster configuration with a more consistent interface to module parameters and reduced errors through configuration checking embedded within the AOP,” said Michael Frayne, product manager, network interfaces, Molex Incorporated. “A level of consistency is now possible that was not there prior to the AOP.”
