Now, there is better protection than ever for field mounted transmitters with the TP-Pipe Series from MTL Surge Technologies.The TP-Pipe Series offers the ultimate in easy-to-install surge protection from surges and transients from field cabling. The TP-Pipe Series provides protection far superior to what is typically offered by the field transmitter manufacturer - without requiring any additional wiring, conduit modifications or other expensive extras.The TP-Pipe protection network includes high power, solid-sate electronics and a gas filled discharge tube that is capable of diverting 10kA impulses. The unit is encased in an ANSI 316 stainless steel housing, threaded for the common conduit entries found on field transmitters.
The TP-Pipe just screws into the conduit entry on the transmitter, flying leads are connected to the terminal block and the internal ground stud. Field wiring is connected to a 3-position socket and then to the provided header. The TP-Pipe system operates without in any way affecting field transmitter operations. The TP-Pipe is available for hazardous area use with approvals for intrinsically safe and flameproof operations .
