April 23, 2007 - DULUTH, Ga. – Cube67 is a modular distributed I/O system that simplifies design and engineering functions, and reduces electrical and mechanical assembly and installation time by as much as 50 percent. Cube67's straightforward design and simple assembly also significantly decrease start-up time, trouble shooting and system downtime.
Simplification & flexibility of design
The simplified design and modular flexibility of the Murrelektronik Cube67 makes it very user friendly. Beginning with the bus node, Cube67 I/O modules can be placed throughout the system. Cube67 utilizes a hybrid cable that supplies power and communication to system modules, components and input/output devices such as sensors and actuators.
Time & Financial Savings
Configuring Cube67 systems also requires less time, energy and effort than the conventional practice of hard-wiring systems. With traditional methods, several cables are wired through terminals in junction boxes, and then routed throughout the machine with long cable runs. Cube67 eliminates these extra expenditures of time, manpower and unnecessary equipment; and dramatically reduces the possibility of wiring errors.
Dual-Direction Communication Capability
Cube67 I/O modules are available for use with digital, analog and serial signals. With Cube67, each digital channel can be user-configurable for input or output operations according to the user’s system requirements. For example, a module with 16 digital signals can have 16 inputs, 16 outputs, or any combination in between. This design flexibility may reduce the number of modules required.
Ease of use and documentation
Cube67 provides complete channel-specific diagnostics throughout the entire system, all the way down to and including the sensor/actuator level. Once a problem is noted, it is easily and quickly located with no involved, confusing diagrams or tangled wires to navigate. The malfunctioning part is simply unplugged, removed and replaced by plugging the new component into the Cube67 system. The equipment is now ready for operation.
Also, because Cube67 requires very few components, its “as-built” documentation makes tracking and recording system schematics easier than ever.Cube67 is well suited for a wide variety of operations, systems and configurations. It can be used with proximity sensors, photo eyes, single valves, valve stacks, analog applications (inputs and outputs) like temperature measurement, logic modules, operator panels, push buttons and many other devices/applications.Murrelektronik, Inc. is a leader in the field of industrial automation and connectivity.
