January 11, 2017 – MYNAH Technologies’ PROFINET Driver for the DeltaV VIM2 Module has passed the certification tests conducted by PROFINET International. PROFIBUS and PROFINET International (PI) is the largest automation community in the world and responsible for PROFIBUS and PROFINET.
In March of this year, MYNAH announced the release of the PROFINET Driver for VIM2. This expanded customers’ network possibilities and application options by adding PROFINET protocol abilities to the DeltaV distributed control system (DCS) — further opening plant-floor integration to DeltaV users.
The addition of PROFINET saves DeltaV users time and effort by enabling direct connection between the DeltaV DCS and plant floor devices such as motor control centers, variable speed drives, and PLCs in process automation businesses. The PROFINET driver provides a native IO interface to these devices with integration.
PROFINET joins a wide range of Ethernet-based protocols, such as Modbus/TCP, Ethernet/IP, and FMC722, supported by MYNAH Technologies. The capability is added to DeltaV systems that use either M-series or S-series controllers and VIM2 modules.
