March 23, 2012 – Nanotec Electronic opened a subsidiary--Nanotec Electronic US--in Medford, MA. Nanotec Electronic US will offer Nanotec’s Plug and Drive Servo stepper motors, BLDC motors, stepper driven linear actuators and intelligent motor controllers. The plug & drive stepper motors with integrated motor controllers deliver servo motor performance. Nanotec offers its motors in IP54 or IP65 enclosures with intelligent motor controllers for RS485, CANopen or EtherCAT based systems.
“The US market is much too important for us, to manage from our Headquarter near Munich, Gemany”, says Nanotec CEO Stephan Huber. “The formation of the US subsidiary is an important step in Nanotec’s overall strategy of growing international presence and to improve brand awareness in the US market.”
Since 2011 Nanotec US products have been sold through resellers and directly to the industry. “We are in the process of building a network of resellers in US and Canada to represent Nanotec and provide face to face support,” says Sales Manager Michael McShane. “The new subsidiary not only guarantees shorter delivery times for Nanotec products, but we can now personally accompany our resellers and customers throughout their development process and offer technical know-how and competent advice.”
“We see a trend towards drives combined with intelligent controllers, which are capable of performing control tasks without a higher-leveled SPS”, says Stephan Huber.
Founded in 1991, Nanotec started early in China with a joint-venture for manufacturing stepper motors. In 2008, the Nanotec opened its first subsidiary in ChangZhou, China, for manufacturing plug & drive motors, hybrid linear actuators, IP categorized stepper motors and motor controllers according to German quality standards. All processes are subject to a comprehensive management system which complies with the DIN 9001:2008 quality standard.
