16 September, 2013

New versions of OPC UA For Devices (DI) and OPC UA For Analyzer Devices (ADI) have been released by the OPC Foundation.

September 16, 2013--New versions of OPC UA For Devices (DI) and OPC UA For Analyzer Devices (ADI) have been released. DI is a companion specification designed for exposing and functionally grouping Device Parameters and Methods. Such grouping is typically for configuration, maintenance, or monitoring. DI is the base for more specific companion standards like ADI, Field Device Integration (FDI), and OPC UA For IEC1131-3 (PLCOpen).

Version 1.1 extends version 1.0 with two new models: A Network and Connection model suitable to expose communication topologies (for instance for gateway devices), and A Device Integration Host Model used by host systems to manage Device integration of a complete system.

ADI is a companion specification for sophisticated Analyzer Devices like Spectrometers or Chromatographs.

Version 1.1 is functionally identical to Version 1.0 but has undergone significant changes in the information model as a result of feedback from product developments and to align with OPC UA version 1.02 and OPC UA for Devices version 1.1.

The Release version of the OPC UA For Analyser Devices 1.1 Companion Specification may be found at OPC UA Analyzer Devices Specification . The Release version of the OPC UA For Devices 1.01 Companion Specification may be found at OPC UA Devices Specification .
