Kyocera 200 Module to Provide Wireless Communications for Opto 22 Machine-to-Machine Applications Over CDMA Networks
Temecula, CA — March 22, 2004 — Opto 22, a manufacturer and developer of hardware and software for industrial automation, remote monitoring, enterprise data acquisition, and machine-to-machine applications, has announced the integration of Kyocera Wireless Corp.' s 200 telemetry module with Opto 22 SNAP I/O hardware, resulting in a comprehensive machine-to-machine (M2M) communications system for remote asset monitoring, management, and data acquisition over Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) networks.Opto 22’s SNAP I/O hardware is used in applications involving monitoring and control of both local and remote enterprise business machines, systems, and environments. The Kyocera 200 module is a wireless telemetry device for communicating data over CDMA-based 1xRTT cellular networks.
Combined, the Opto 22 and Kyocera Wireless technologies create an M2M offering that enables new wireless monitoring and control capabilities when connecting to and communicating with remote enterprise assets.
