OSI to Supply SCADA system to Mountain Parks Electric

In a second phase of this project, MPEI will be implementing Advanced Distribution Management System functionalities, including Electronic Mapping, Distribution Power Flow and Volt/VAR Control.

December 2, 2011 - Open Systems International (OSI) has been awarded a contract by Mountain Parks Electric. (MPEI), to provide a SCADA and Distribution Management system based on OSI’s monarch (Multi-platform Open Network ARCHitecture) platform, in order to modernize and enhance their utility operations and operational efficiency. OSI will provide a .NET based Graphical User Interface (GUI), Advanced Alarm Management System; Real-time and Historical Trending; Communications Front-end Processor; Historical Information System and Data Archiving; Calculation & Scripting Subsystem; Disturbance Data Collection; Virtual Remote Terminal Unit; and Energy Accounting software products, with monarch interfaces to GIS, MultiSpeak and ODBC.

In a second phase of this project, MPEI will be implementing Advanced Distribution Management System functionalities, including Electronic Mapping, Distribution Power Flow and Volt/VAR Control. “We chose OSI over other vendors because they offered the best system at the most reasonable cost,” said Scott Simons, MPEI’s Project Engineer. “We welcome MPEI to our family of users.
