April 11, 2012 - Open Systems International (OSI) has been awarded a new contract by Suncor Energy as the second part of a two-phase project for a new SCADA/EMS system at Suncor’s Oil Sands Operation. Having been initially selected by Suncor to provide an interim SCADA system based on OSI’s monarch lite platform in 2009, the company has now been awarded a follow-up contract for a full-scale SCADA/EMS system based on OSI’s monarch platform.
The full-scale new monarch system is set to feature the advanced functionality of OSI’s .NET based Graphical User Interface (GUI); Remote Console GUI; Data Engineering and Maintenance Subsystem; Real-time and Historical Trending; Communications Front-end Processor; Historical Information System and Data Archiving; Inter-control Center Communications Protocol; Calculation & Scripting Subsystem; Disturbance Data Collection; and Operator Training Simulator software products, with monarch interfaces to OPC, ODBC and SNMP.
