Ameren selected PAS' Alarm Management Optimization Real-Time (AMO-Rt) software for its enterprise-wide alarm management initiative at all 30+ electric power generating facilities. The AMO-Rt license includes modules for Alarm & Event Analysis, Documentation & Rationalization, Audit & Enforce and State-Based Alarm Handling, providing functionality not previously available to Ameren.

Software packages from competing vendors to be replaced with corporate-wide deployment of AMO-Rt software – reflecting PAS’ growth surge into the Power Industry Houston, TX – February 13, 2007 – St. Louis-based Ameren Corporation (NYSE:AEE) has selected PAS’ Alarm Management Optimization – Real-Time (AMO-Rt) software for their enterprise-wide alarm management initiative. The decision to license the PAS technologies for use at all 30+ electric power generating facilities is especially significant as AMO-Rt replaces competitive technology. The AMO-Rt license includes modules for Alarm & Event Analysis, Documentation & Rationalization, Audit & Enforce and State-Based Alarm Handling – providing functionality not previously available to Ameren.

Deployment of the AMO-Rt software will follow the Seven Steps to Successful Alarm Management as outlined in PAS’ best-selling text, The Alarm Management Handbook – A Comprehensive Guide. Robert L. Powers, Vice President of Ameren Services and President of Electric Energy Inc. said, “One of Ameren’s Key Strategies for Success is to protect resources. To that end, we pledge to protect the health and safety of everyone working at Ameren companies’ generating plants as well as plant equipment through sound operating and maintenance practices.

The selection of the AMO-Rt software is a key component to meeting these goals.” Dan Perschbacher, Manager, Generation Training & Performance Assessment added, “Prior to making a decision for a new standard of Alarm Management, Ameren conducted a thorough evaluation of numerous alarm management solutions available in the marketplace today. The fact that AMO-Rt was significantly more advanced than competing solutions, with a strong installed base and proven methodologies made that decision easy – even as we move from our current solution.” “We are thrilled with Ameren’s selection of PAS as their strategic partner for alarm management.

This agreement further strengthens our surge into the power industry and validates our position as the Global Alarm Authority,” commented Eddie Habibi, CEO and Founder of PAS. PAS’ Alarm Management business grew by 124% in 2006 alone, driven largely by the success of The Alarm Management Handbook and its companion workshop seminar series.
