January 28, 2014 - PEAK-System releases PCAN wireless gateway to facilitate the connection of CAN busses over WLAN. For this, CAN frames are wrapped in TCP or UDP message packages and forwarded from one device to another over the IP network. Configuration of the devices is provided by a convenient web interface. The PCAN Wireless Gateways are supplied in a plastic housing with a flange and are available in 2 versions; one with two 9-pin D-Sub connectors and the other with a 12-pin Tyco automotive connector. Built in are two High-speed CAN channels with a bit rate of up to 1 Mbit/s.

The WLAN interface supports IEEE 802.11 b/g and establishes its connection via an internal chip antenna. Thanks to its extended operating temperature range of -40 to 85 °C (-40 to 185 °F) the PCAN-Wireless Gateway is suitable for use in industrial and automotive environments.
