July 18, 2006 - TWINSBURG, OH – Pepperl+Fuchs Systems & Solutions Business Unit recently received UL508A, UL698A and UL698B accreditation from the Underwriters Laboratories Inc. for the manufacture and certification of general purpose and hazardous location control panels.UL508A allows Pepperl+Fuchs to build and certify as UL listed a general-purpose control panel. UL698A allows them to build and certify an industrial control panel intended for general industrial use and installation in unclassified locations with intrinsically safe circuit extensions into Class I, Class II, and Class III, Division 1 hazardous locations in accordance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70.
Finally, UL698B allows Pepperl+Fuchs to build and certify industrial control equipment for installation and use in hazardous locations, Class I, Division 1, Groups A, B, C, and D, and Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F, and G, in accordance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70. These requirements also cover explosion-proof electrical equipment for installation and use in Class I, Zone 1, Groups IIA, IIB, IIB plus Hydrogen, and IIC hazardous (classified) locations.
