April 12, 2007 - TWINSBURG, OH – Pepperl+Fuchs introduces VDM35 Series Laser Displacement Sensors. Available in 6m diffused and 30m retro-reflective modes, these distance measurement sensors offer fully scaleable 4-20mA analog outputs and dual discrete PNP switch points, along with simple push-button programming. Other features include an eye-safe Class 1 infrared laser for sensing, a built-in Class 2 visible red laser for alignment and a 5-pin M12 x 1 micro connector.VDM sensors provide an analog output (4-20mA) proportionate to how close or far an object or reflector is from the sensor, which makes them an ideal solution for most types of measurement and inspection applications.

VDM sensors monitor and measure the distance between products to keep equal spacing and positioning, making them well suited for use in automotive manufacturing. Because they provide a continual analog output, VDM sensors are also an ideal solution for monitoring the position of elevator cars, and positioning the elevator at the correct point on each floor. These sensors can be used to measure and provide feedback regarding roll diameter, making them well suited for use in printing and converting applications, and nearly any other application where measurement of roll thickness is required.

Additional applications include liquid level control, bin level control, profiling and error proofing.Pepperl+Fuchs is a world leader in the design, manufacture and application of high quality factory and process automation products and services. Pepperl+Fuchs pioneered the development of proximity sensors 45 years ago, and has set the standard for innovation and quality ever since.
