The QUINT DC UPS can be monitored for predictive maintenance anywhere there is an Industrial Ethernet network connection. The network connection is integrated into the UPS.

October 10, 2018   Phoenix Contact’s QUINT DC UPS provides real-time information about a battery’s health over standard industrial networking protocols, such as EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT, and USB. With this data, the user knows the state of the UPS system before there is a problem.

The QUINT DC UPS is an intelligent modular solution that provides critical system backup to supply loads in the event of mains failures and indicates the operating and battery states. The battery management system (BMS) with IQ technology and a battery charger to ensure power reliability within a control system.

Device variants are each available with Industrial Ethernet network interfaces or simply as status contacts only. Networking enables the system to be monitored, configured, or shut down safely from any location.

The QUINT DC UPS can be monitored for predictive maintenance anywhere there is an Industrial Ethernet network connection. The network connection is integrated into the UPS, eliminating the need for additional add-on peripherals.

As the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) expands, nearly every device will be connected. Engineers are demanding more information about the operational condition of a control cabinet. They want to know the health of their batteries and the overall operational status of the power system. With the need for higher availability, the reliability of the power system within a cabinet is more important than ever. Integration into the many available Ethernet protocols is important for remote diagnostics and scheduling system maintenance.
