January 30, 2017 – The HEAVYCON rectangular connector enclosure from Phoenix Contact now meets the UL 508A standard for use in industrial control equipment. This certification is important for industrial control cabinet builders in North America who produce UL certified electrical enclosures. Industrial enclosures that comply with UL 508A standards must use components that have been evaluated and listed by UL as compliant components.
Additionally, HEAVYCON is certified for UL Type 4, 4X, and 12 protection categories for panel feed- through connectivity in electrical enclosures. This level of certification ensures that cabinet builders can maintain the original environmental protection rating of the enclosure even after the cut-out is made.
With a HEAVYCON connector installed on the electrical enclosure, the installer can bring power and control out to a machine with a simple plug-in connection. The pre-certification and trace-ability of the components simplify the process of attaining UL 508A for a fully wired enclosure.
