June 14, 2012 - On June 14, fifteen Phoenix Contact employees departed the Phoenix Contact facility in Middletown, Pa., to embark on a 600-mile bike ride to Phoenix Contact's new facility in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The ride, consistent with the culture of Phoenix Contact, aims to promote team building, health and fitness both in and out of the workplace. Nathan Owens, a Phoenix Contact employee who is participating in the ride started cycling five years ago after a bad ankle injury forced him to seek low-impact forms of exercise.

He shared, "It's great to work for a company like Phoenix Contact that promotes wellness initiatives and encourages all of us to live an active lifestyle." In addition to promoting wellness, the bike ride is intended to highlight the growth of the company and Phoenix Contact's increased capability to serve customers in the Midwest region with the opening of the new Customer and Technology Center in Ann Arbor. Jeremy Valentine, another bike ride participant, stated, "This event is a great glimpse into two core elements of our company success: first, the Ann Arbor facility will bring our innovative products into the backyard of many of our current and future customers. The ride, then, puts our unique company culture on display for the world to see."

The bike ride is expected to take approximately six days with the cyclists traveling an estimated 100 miles per day and arriving during the grand opening of the facility on June 20.
