Harrisburg, Pa. - Phoenix Contact introduces a new family of surge protection devices for sensitive data and Ethernet networks certified to Cat 5e interface requirements. The D-LAN surge protection products keep damaging transient voltage and current away from sensitive data equipment, thereby improving overall network performance and uptime. Designed with RJ 45 in and out connections, the D-LAN products are easy to install and universal in application. The D-LAN packaging options include stand-alone, industrial DIN rail mount, and 19” multi-port rack mount.
The multi-port 19” rack version comes in four-port versions protecting 4-24 ports in 1U of rack space. A special hybrid circuit using fast acting Silicon Avalanche Diodes and high current handling Gas Discharge Tubes provides surge current handling capacity greater than 2.5kA and clamping voltage less than 7V. The D-LAN’s low attenuation values of 1dB at frequencies up to 100MHz ensure no effect on normal data traffic.
The D-LAN rack-mount version is replaceable/expandable in groups of 4-port modules providing additional flexibility.The D-LAN is the latest addition to Phoenix Contact’s TRABTECH (Transient Absorption Technology) product line.
