Phoenix Contact introduces PLC-RELAY for High-Current Applications
PLC-RELAY high-current terminal block relay with plug-in SPDT contacts works in applications requiring a nominal current rating up to 10 amps.

February 5, 2008 - MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Phoenix Contact’s newest PLC-RELAY is a high-current terminal block relay with plug-in SPDT contacts. It is designed for applications requiring a nominal current rating up to 10 amps, or those that need to improve the electrical life of the contacts.Measuring 14 millimeters wide, the relay’s contacts are much larger than a standard 6-millimeter terminal block relay.

These contacts help to extend service intervals two to three times longer than the standard relay, while at the same time adding security for uncertain load conditions. The high-current terminal block relays are a reliable alternative to ice cube relays. In addition to saving space, they feature a patented plug-in bridging system, eliminating the time-consuming daisy chain wiring and reducing installation time. The high-current terminal block relays connect seamlessly to 6- and 14-millimeter PLC-RELAYS using this press fit bridge.Like all Phoenix Contact PLC-RELAY products, the high-current relay has integrated protection.

The reverse polarity and kick-back diode are included to protect the relay and the controls. It is available with either screw or spring terminals.Phoenix Contact is a world leader in electrical connection, electronic interface and industrial automation technologies. Phoenix Contact USA, located in Middletown, Pa., is a subsidiary of Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co.

KG of Blomberg, Germany, which operates 40 subsidiaries and employs more than 8,400 people around the world. The company’s Integrated Management Systems include a formal Quality, Environmental and Safety program that meets International Standards Organization’s (ISO) requirements (ISO 9001: 2000, ISO 14001: 2004 and OHSAS 18001:1999).
