Enhancements include expanded voltage and current ranges to make the power supplies suited for small load applications where size is a premium.

August 7, 2008 - Phoenix Contact introduces the second generation of STEP general purpose power supplies. Expanded voltage and current ranges make the redesigned STEP series well suited for small load applications where size is a premium. The new STEP power supplies feature a voltage versus current characteristic output. Upon heavy load demands, the power supply provides constant current output. This is ideal for starting lamp loads or capacitive loads.

Some STEP models also have adjustable output voltages, allowing for lead length compensation. With its unique DIN rail clip, the versatile STEP can be mounted either on a rail or in a panel. While designed specifically for the building automation industry, the STEP power supplies are also ideally suited for any location that requires a compact and reliable power supply.Phoenix Contact is a world leader in electrical connection, electronic interface and industrial automation technologies.

A global company with annual sales exceeding 1 billion euro, Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co., Blomberg, Germany, operates 46 international subsidiaries, including Phoenix Contact USA in Middletown, Pa. Phoenix Contact's formal Integrated Management Systems meet International Standards Organization (ISO) quality, environmental and safety requirements (ISO 9001:2000, 14001:2004 and 18001:1999).
