June 25, 2019 – Phoenix Contact has expanded its range of IP-protected PRC series circular connectors. The additions make it possible to customize connections in multiple ways.

Inverted cable connectors and couplings ensure cable-to-cable connections in building, industrial, and outdoor applications. Modular basic housings and contact inserts also make angled conductor outlets possible for the first time.

The housings allow the user to choose between a 0-, 45-, or 90-degree orientation on both the cable- and the device-side connectors. The shells can be equipped with contact inserts for socket or pin contacts, depending on the application. The inverted connectors and contact inserts are available in three or five positions and offer a high degree of protection up to IP69K.

The circular connectors can handle currents up to 35 A and voltages up to 600 V AC and are up to 75 percent smaller than conventional industrial connectors. Thanks to the weatherproof materials, they are suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
