PLCopen OPC Working Group formed

The OPC Technical Advisory Council (TAC) has approved a charter for a new joint working group with PLCopen to create an OPC UA information model corresponding to the IEC-61131 standard.

June 19, 2009-- The OPC Technical Advisory Council (TAC) has approved a charter for a new joint working group with PLCopen to create an OPC UA information model corresponding to the IEC-61131 standard. OPC members are invited to participate in the new joint working group. A small team has already begun work on the information model and there is a prototype spec available for review. Meetings for this activity are scheduled in Frankfurt, Germany June 29 - 30, 2009 and on July 13, 2009, the Official OPC Foundation working group kickoff meeting (electronic) will be held.
