PLCopen updates User Guidelines for Motion Control

Update includes integration of the first parts of the PLCopen specifications on motion control.

November 28, 2012 - With the update and integration of the first parts of the PLCopen specifications on motion control, the third part containing the User Guidelines needed to reflect the new features as well as a general improvement. With the new releases, the set of PLCopen Motion Control Specifications now consist of the following cooperating parts:

Part 1 - with the basic functionalities

Part 2 - being integrated in Part 1

Part 3 - the update part with the user guidelines

Part 4 - for the coordinated motion

Part 5 - with the homing procedures

Part 6 - with additional functionalities for hydraulics

The document User Guidelines contains easy-to-understand examples as well as examples how to create user-derived function blocks to add to a company specific library, improving the reusability of the application programs. These examples should help the user to better understand the PLCopen Motion Control functionality and help to get started with their first application programs. Also it can be used for teaching.

PLCopen is open for new examples to add to future releases of this specification.
