POSITAL announces stainless steel encoders for food
Encoders have IP66 protection on the shaft side, IP67 on the housing side, and a robust housing which withstands even aggressive detergents.

May 12, 2010 - Encoders from POSITAL are available as stainless steel versions suitable for applications with strict hygienic requirements. Featuring IP66 protection on the shaft side, IP67 on the housing side, and an especially robust housing which withstands even aggressive detergents, they can be used in food and pharma industry applications. POSITAL's encoder portfolio consists of the highly precise OPTOCODE series which uses a proven opto-electronic scanning method to record position values, and the MAGNETOCODE line whose robust magnetic technology allows for cost-efficient, compact solutions. MAGNETOCODE encoders are equipped with a CANopen, SSI or analog interface. OPTOCODE encoders are available with a wide range of bus interfaces covering virtually all application areas.

Apart from Profibus, CANopen, DeviceNet, SSI, Industrial Ethernet, POWERLINK, bit parallel and Interbus, POSITAL also provides EtherNet/IP and PROFINET IRT models which have been certified by the Open DeviceNet Vendors Association (ODVA) and the PROFIBUS user organization (PNO). Additionally, an encoder with a CANopen safety interface which has been certified by German testing authority TÜV Rheinland is also available.
