The HM-USB-ISO passed the rigorous HART Communication Foundation (HCF) registration program and has been officially registered by the HCF to meet protocol specifications.

July 7, 2010 – ProComSol announced HART registration and CE certification for the HM-USB-ISO HART modem. The HM-USB-ISO passed the rigorous HART Communication Foundation (HCF) registration program and has been officially registered by the HCF to meet protocol specifications. According to Jeffrey Dobos, President of ProComSol, Ltd, “Registration with the HART Foundation ensures users that the HM-USB-ISO will perform in their applications, and with a list price of $299.99 (USD) it is the lowest price registered HART modem on the market.

Furthermore, CE certification enables the HM-USB-ISO to be used in Europe. ” The small size, light weight, and durability of the HM-USB-ISO HART modem make it ideal for portable use. Most new notebook computers do not have serial ports, making the USB interface the only available way to connect to HART networks. The HM-USB-ISO also derives its operating power from the USB connection, eliminating the need for an external power supply, and further adding to its mobility. The HM-USB-ISO modem is similar to the HM-USB modem except that it has 1500 Vdc electrical isolation between the USB and HART circuits.

The electrical isolation provides enhanced safety and performance. The HM-USB-ISO HART modem meets industry standards for USB connectivity. The USB interface is compatible with both USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 standards.

The HART interface also meets the HART physical layer specification HCF_SPEC-54.An easy to install Virtual Serial Port driver allows the HM-USB-ISO HART modem to be used in any Windows based application. The driver is included with every modem and is also available for download via the company website. The website also contains an online ecommerce site. ProComSol, Ltd was founded in 2005 and has become the leading provider of technically advanced, cost-effective communication solutions to the HART marketplace.

The president, Jeffrey Dobos, has more than a decade of experience developing products with HART technology. The company designs and manufactures both USB and Bluetooth HART modems, and DevCom2000 communication software that can be used to convert a PC or PDA into a HART Communicator.
