Scottsdale, AZ–March 3, 2005–The PROFIBUS Trade Organization (PTO) has appointed Carl Henning as Director of PROFINET Marketing. Mr. Henning will head all marketing activities for PROFINET, the open Industrial Ethernet standard for automation. "It's good to have Carl back on the PROFIBUS team," said Michael Bryant, Executive Director of the PTO. "His PROFIBUS experience dates back to the founding of the PTO in 1994 when he served on the initial Board of Directors.
Since Carl has attended almost every PTO General Assembly meeting these past ten years, he has remained connected to the PROFIBUS community." Mr. Henning will cover all aspects of PROFINET promotion including the print advertising, web, public relations, editorial contributions, and seminars. "This is an exciting time to re-engage PROFIBUS with the emergence of PROFINET," Henning said. "The industry will benefit greatly from this widely supported standard.
PROFINET covers all areas and aspects of automation from the field level to the MES interface, from standard control level to high-end motion control, as well as the integration of safety and security." Mr. Henning has many years of global software marketing experience including sales, service, support, training, marketing, technical, and executive management, most recently with Perseus Development Corporation, the industry leader in web-based survey research, software and services, where he was responsible for creating and managing an International presence for Perseus. Prior to Perseus, he was Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Avantis Business Unit of Wonderware Corporation.
Earlier, for Wonderware's industrial automation business, Carl led the rollout of Wonderware's original FactorySuite.
