June 28, 2012 - Progea made a communication driver available for Movicon 11.3, which allows Movicon applications to connect to control devices with General Electric interfaces. This communication driver uses the GE Service Request Transfer Protocol 2 (SRTP2) protocol in client version and therefore can now support all GE devices from the PLC and PAC families that implement the SRTP2 Ethernet protocol, such as the PLC 90-30 series or the PAC RX3i Systems. This driver joins the already vast native communication driver library, which is free, inbuilt and also included in the Movicon Editor.
Thanks to this driver, system integrators, in particular those operating in the American market, now have a greater advantage in proposing a connection functionality capable of further amplifying the range of connectable automation devices natively, giving end users the chance to reduce costs further with the benefit of being able to enhance performances even more.
