November 13, 2011 - RAFI releases touch keycaps with edge lighting for oversquare pushbuttons from the MICON 5 series. Square plungers with edge lighting serve to signal switching and machine statuses.
The plungers have dimensions of 14.5 x 14.5 mm (or 18 x 18 mm), and are available for the total installation height of 9.7 mm – with embossing. The matching luminous fields are likewise available from RAFI.
Those units with a ground area of merely 5.1 x 6.4 mm and a height of 3.85 mm offer a high level of toggle reliability with minimum space requirements. The good operability is warranted by outstanding tactility as well as by a clearly perceptible touch key click upon actuation.
For different fields of usage in which various actuation force levels are desired, RAFI offers variants with 3, 4.5, 5.5 and 8 N. MICON 5 oversquare pushbuttons stand out due to their extremely high useful life: Based on the selected actuation force level, RAFI guarantees 250,000 to one million switching cycles. MICON 5 devices are available with SMT and THT connectors.
