Saelig announces vandal-proof KP Keypad
Keypads are for industrial access control, environmental control and service access, or anywhere that secure data entry must withstand weather and vandal assault.

Pittsford, NY: KP Keypads are a new range of economical, rugged, vandal-proof metal key arrays designed as a response to increasing demand for secure switching. These attractive metal keypads are aimed at industrial environments for access control, environmental control and service access, or anywhere that secure data entry must withstand weather and vandal assault. KP Keypads are available with 1, 2, 3, 4, 12, or 16 buttons and are available as front- or rear-mounted versions for attaching to any flat surface. The keys are available back-lit by blue, red, green, white or yellow LEDs, with a large, clear font on the button faces. There is also choice of casing and button colors.

Low profile mounting bezels are available that can be fixed from the rear of the control panel, insuring that mounting-screws are inaccessible to vandals. RoHS- and CE-compliant KP Keypads are manufactured from strong, powder-coated, die-cast zinc, with an anti-pull key design, and are IP-rated for weather, water and dust resistance. Switch contacts are rated at 24VDC @ 20mA and are reliability-tested to 4,000,000 cycles per key. Electrical connection is on 2.5 mm pitch terminals.

Designed for extremes, the operating temperature range for the keypad is -40°C to +80°C (-40°F to 176°F) and its impact-resistance withstands 20 joules from a 50mm Ø steel impactor.
