October 7, 2009 - Ashland, MA - Schaefer announces the C5800HV Series of high output voltage power converters.The C5800HV Series can provide output voltages up to 3000VDC, while generating up to 12kW of output power. The high output voltage is ideal for applications that require running DC from remote sites to loads at distant locations, through tens or hundreds of miles of cable.The Series’ robust design, using industrial grade components, yields a highly efficient, space-saving solution for even the most extreme environments.The C5800HV Series is based upon Schaefer’s C/B5800 Series, which offers an extensive lineup of over 100 models.
Five standard DC input voltage options span a range from 80VDC-800VDC. AC input models offer either 1-Phase or 3-Phase options as well as battery charging models.
Single output voltages encompass a range from 12-3000VDC, all of which are adjustable and fully regulated to 0.2% or better (load) and 0.1% (line).DC/DC and AC/DC models have remote sense capability. Comprehensive protection circuitry is inherent in the design and efficiencies are up to 95%.
Operating temperature is -20C to +75C, with -40C to +75C as an option. Additional options include parallel / redundant operation, further mechanical ruggedization, inhibit, Power-OK / DC-OK alarms, system reset signaling, and programming/monitoring functions.The units are packaged in a space saving 6U or 9U rack module or a wall mount module. Custom or modified mechanical and electrical designs are welcomed.
