PALATINE, Ill. — September 15, 2006 — Schneider Electric announced today the availability of a new Customer Training Course Catalog, complete with a comprehensive view of current courses in the areas of Power Distribution, Automation and Control, and Power Management. The new catalog contains curriculum maps and matrices that make it easier for customers to determine the course selection best suited to their particular job, position and skill set. Schneider Electric conducts classroom-style training at many of its facilities throughout the United States, including a number of regional classes. The company also has the ability to conduct on-site training at customer locations as requested.
These courses can be application- or system-oriented and customized to meet specific needs. “Whether it’s Square D , Merlin Gerin or Telemecanique products, making sure customers have access to proper training to ensure a safe work environment is a top priority,” says Chris Curtis, president, Schneider Electric USA. “Not only does proper training increase worker safety, but it also can lower equipment life-cycle costs and maximize power system reliability.”

Power Distribution — includes courses on maintaining electrical distribution equipment and NFPA 70E safety standards. 2. Automation and Control — includes courses on PLCs, PLC applications, industrial communications, variable frequency drives, HMIs, resistance welding, servo motion and machine safeguarding. 3. Power Management — includes courses on PowerLogic fundamentals, PowerLogic system installation and troubleshooting certification, SMS, SMS administrator certification, power quality, energy management, ION fundamentals, ION administrator and ION programmer.
In addition, the new training catalog and programs will be featured at Schneider Electric’s Initi@tive 2006 conference, which will be held September 28-30 in Orlando, Florida. “Initi@tive 2006: the Gateway to the New Electric World” is a debut trade exposition in the United States, that will bring together local and international experts to present a series of diverse seminars on topics designed to help attendees with their daily business.
