Schneider Electric USA names Amelia Huntington COO

Huntington will have managerial responsibility for the United States, Canada, Mexico, Juno Lighting Group and several other core Division functions and business operations.

December 10, 2008 — The Schneider Electric North American Operating Division announced that Amelia A. Huntington has been promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) NAOD and President of Schneider Electric USA, effective Jan. 1, 2009. This announcement was made by Chris Curtis, who will remain CEO of the North American Operating Division, as well as assume additional responsibilities in leading Schneider Electric’s global Building Automation and Energy Efficiency business. Curtis is also a member of the Schneider Electric Executive Committee.

In her new role, Huntington will have NAOD managerial responsibility for the United States, Canada, Mexico, Juno Lighting Group and several other core Division functions and business operations. As COO, Huntington will be responsible for leading the management and daily business activities of the Division. “I am extremely confident in Amy’s ability to be an effective and successful leader of our Division.

Her 20 years of experience with Schneider Electric, including her most recent role as President and CEO of Juno Lighting Group since 2006, along with her unique skill set, make her well-suited for this new position,” said Chris Curtis, North American Operating Division CEO.Huntington joined Square D and Schneider Electric in 1988, and has had a long and successful career in sales and channel marketing management, as Vice President of Corporate Quality, and as Vice President and Senior Vice President Strategic Accounts and Schneider Global Business Development, respectively. Prior to the President and CEO leadership position of Juno Lighting Group in 2006, she also served as Senior Vice President Business Development and Strategy for NAOD.

Huntington holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in industrial management/industrial engineering and a Master’s of Science degree in management, both from Purdue University. A city of Chicago resident, she is also actively involved with several civic organizations and Boards, including the American Heart Association Chicago Metro. A 2008 recipient of the distinguished Alumni Award from Purdue University, Huntington also remains active at Purdue University as a member of the Purdue Krannert School of Management Board and the Krannert School Dean’s Advisory Council. She has also served as a guest lecturer at the Krannert School of Management Executive Forum.
