In addition to offices in the USA, Japan and Germany, this makes the fourth office that serves as a contact point for developers and users.

December 17, 2007 - Santa Rosa Beach, Florida - SERCOS International has opened a branch office in China because of the increasing interest in the SERCOS real-time motion control technology within Asia. In addition to offices in the USA, Japan and Germany, this makes the fourth office that serves as a contact point for developers and users.

In parallel to the opening of the branch office, a Chinese language website has been set up: www.sercos.org.cn . The SERCOS China office is located in Beijing.

It is operated by CAMETA (China Association for Mechatronics Technology & Application), a nonprofit organization involved with the development and fabrication of mechatronic technologies and products. Technical support is supplied by the Beijing Polytechnic University (BPU) under the direction of Prof. Weifu Chen, a recognized expert in motion applications. SERCOS International has been cooperating intensely with companies and engineers in China for several years. The positive effects of the long-term cooperation are already visible.

For example, in 2002 SERCOS interface was added by SAC (Standardization Administration of China) to the list of the Guobiao Standards, which are accepted in China. The China National Standard is the condition for local companies being allowed to use the technology.
