June 4, 2014 - Sercos International, supplier of the Sercos automation bus, welcomed around 25 technology and automation vendors as well as end users from various industries to its 13th PlugFest on May 7 and 8 at the Institute for Control Engineering of Machine Tools and Manufacturing (ISW) at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. More than 30 products were intensively tested with each other to insure the interoperability of Sercos products. Among the tested items were 10 drives such as CNCs, PLCs, RCs and motion controls as well as electrical and pneumatic peripheral components. A total of 100 master-slave combinations were also successfully tested. In addition, extensive network configurations were tested with drives and various slaves of different vendors.

Peter Lutz, Managing Director of Sercos International, commented, "The PlugFests have been very well accepted by the Sercos community and they offer vendors an ideal opportunity to check the high grade of interoperability of the Sercos automation bus. We’ll continue to optimize the PlugFests and will incorporate feedback from this event for the 14th PlugFest in October.” The 14th Sercos PlugFest is scheduled for October 15 to 16, 2014.
