Project description: As main effect of recently carried grants (in cooperation with Institute of Control and Industrial Electronics from Warsaw University of Technology), a new series of sensorless vector frequency converters was worked out (up to 160 kW rated motor power). As a continuation of R&D implementing an extended power range product line (up to 315 kW rated motor power) is planned. Proposed frequency converters can be used for smooth and precision control of rotational speed of AC motors (typical, 3-phase squirrel cage induction machines). These converters was designed as general purpose equipment with easy application in new and refurbished systems (inverters are powered from typical AC-mains: 3x400 V 50 Hz). Worked out frequency converters gives as results for example rapid energy savings, vibrations limiting, noise level limiting, machine overhaul life elongating (less wearing of transmission gears, clutches etc.). Project innovativeness: Worked out vector frequency converters are based on previous, standard-line devices. In proposed new vector inverters innovative control method was used (DTC -Direct Torque Control) to direct control of motor generated torque. This method makes possible to accurately control of motor torque (also for zero velocity conditions with stopped motor shaft) and maintain declared drive parameters also without an speed/position (encoder) installed. For the sake of using innovative control methods use of mechanical speed/position sensor isn’t necessary. Proposed frequency converters are totally domestic products. These are competitive products for worlds potentates as ABB, Vacon, Siemens, Danfoss, Eurotherm Drives etc. Proposed electrical drives (frequency converters) don’t have functional equivalents on national market in proposed power range.

· Programmable control structure: - two customizable control variants (A & B): - speed selector block (control panel, analog input, PID controller, digital potentiometer, function block), - torque selector block(analog inputs, function block), - run and direction control (control panel, digital input, function block), - programmable digital inputs: run, direction, run blockade, external trip, trip cancellation, - programmable digital outputs (3 relays and 1 open collector type): ready, run, fault, warning, overtemperature of heatsink, given speed reaching, threshold speed reaching, current limit, function block), - programmable analog outputs: frequency, rotational speed, output current, voltage, loading of motor, function block.
