Minneapolis, Minn. - April 16, 2007 - SICK launched Ranger and Ruler series of 3D cameras. The Ranger and Ruler are ideal for in-line inspection machines used in the Electronic, Semiconductor, Wood, Robot Vision, Plastic, Rubber and Food industries.
Ranger 3D Camera
The Ranger is the ultimate camera for the most advanced needs. With its unsurpassed 3D-measurement speed, high flexibility, and MultiScan functionality, it serves as a key vision component for 3D scanner manufacturers and vision integrators.The Ranger is the fastest camera in the world for three-dimensional vision inspections - up to 35,000 profiles per second! It is also possible to get very precise measurements down to <10µm. The Ranger has interchangeable optics and can be combined with light sources in setups optimized for each specific application. This makes the Ranger very flexible and suitable for wide ranging applications - from small-sized electronic component inspection to large-scale log inspections.
With multiple interface options, including CameraLink and Gigabit Ethernet, the Ranger offers more flexibility for integrating these powerful automation tools. In addition, SICK's innovative MultiScan technology allows the Ranger to perform multiple types of inspections at once - such as of high speed 3D, high-resolution grayscale, and a patented inspection method called "scatter."
Ruler E 3D Camera
The Ruler E is a fast camera that provides real world calibrated data for three dimensional vision inspections. The Ruler E Camera has a built-in laser and optics for a predefined field of view, which makes it very easy to install. The integration of the lighting and the camera into a robust IP 65 housing makes the Ruler E an ideal solution for more aggressive environments. The Ruler also incorporates MultiScan technology, enabling the camera to perform multiple types of inspections simultaneously. The Ruler acquires up to 10,000 profiles per second, each containing up to 1536 height measurements per profile.
The Ruler provides calibrated real world measurement data that makes integration of the camera simple.
