Light Curtain Provides All-inclusive Safety Solution for Assembly Line Applications

Louisville, KY, March 29, 2004. – SICK, a global leader in factory automation solutions, today announced the introduction of the innovative C 4000 Entry/Exit Safety Light Curtain at the METALFORM show in Louisville, KY. The show runs March 30 - April 1, 2004. The C 4000 Entry/Exit enhances the company's range of solutions for advanced safety applications and enables SICK to better serve customers' safety needs. The C 4000 Entry/Exit is used in areas where material is automatically transported into a hazardous zone of a machine and access by workers must be reliably safeguarded, making it ideal for use on assembly lines in the automotive industry and other material handling applications.

Unlike other safety light curtains, the C 4000 Entry/Exit is an all-inclusive safety light curtain that requires no muting sensors, switches and lamps, making it a cost-effective solution. Another advantage of the C 4000 Entry/Exit is that it is an active light curtain with advanced floating blanking technology that enables it to reliably distinguish between workers and materials. The Entry/Exit uses self-learning technology based on object properties such as width, speed, interobject distance and number of objects. As a result, various transport systems are automatically accepted without slowing production time.Already the most versatile and flexible family of light curtain solutions on the market, the C 4000 portfolio also includes the Micro, Basic, Standard and Advanced series.
