BLOOMINGTON, Minn., May 7, 2026 — SICK, Inc., joined local officials to celebrate the ribbon cutting of its expanded North American headquarters in Bloomington, Minn., marking a $64 million investment in innovation, technology and workforce development.

As a global leader in sensor-based solutions for industrial applications, SICK AG continues to expand its presence in the United States, driving the creation of high-quality jobs across the technology and manufacturing sectors. The establishment of its North American headquarters underscores a long-term commitment to innovation, learning and community. Through the Customer Resource Center and the Sensor Intelligence Academy Americas, SICK is not only preparing for the future — it is actively shaping it.

Where expansion meets innovation

The expansion adds 139,000 square feet across four floors to the North American campus, featuring purpose-built laboratories for engineering, vision software, robotics, conveyors and research and development, designed to foster innovation and hands-on learning.

This milestone also reflects a broader transformation of SICKʼs regional footprint. The company has unified its Minnesota-based teams on a single campus designed for collaboration as well as bringing people, ideas and manufacturing together under one roof.

“As we celebrate 50 years in Minnesota, this milestone is really about the people and partnerships that have shaped our journey,” said Ron Jubis, president and chairman, SICK North America. “Our commitment goes beyond technology; we are invested in building strong communities, creating opportunities and shaping a future together.”

“This expansion represents more than just physical growth,” added Dave Szczepanski, president and chairman, SICK Product Center Americas. “This is a space that fosters connection, cultivates a sense of belonging and transforms a structure into a place defined by meaning, success and purpose.”

Building the future of intelligent manufacturing

Developed in collaboration with the City of Bloomington in Minnesota and the Bloomington Port Authority, the project also includes a seven-level parking ramp primarily for employee use. Sustainability is central to the campus design, incorporating green space, geothermal wells and energy-efficient systems that harness natural resources for heating and cooling.

Since 1976, SICK has maintained a strong presence in Minnesota. The Bloomington headquarters, strategically located near the Mall of America and Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, serves as a key hub connecting regional offices across North America, including Boston, Detroit, San Francisco and Toronto, Canada.

“We are proud to celebrate this important achievement with SICK. This project represents more than economic growth. It reflects a strong and lasting partnership with our community,” said Tim Busse, mayor of Bloomington. “SICK has contributed to innovation, opportunity and high-quality jobs in advanced technology and manufacturing. This expansion reinforces Bloomingtonʼs position as a hub for industrial automation collaboration and sustainable growth.”
